Vallicelli srl presents its composting system
The VALLICELLI Company has successfully developed and put into production a high efficiency composting system. The final product –stabilised compost– is of good quality and high agronomic value, starting from various types of organic matrix: agro-industrial waste, sludges and green wood-cellulose waste.
In this context VALLICELLI offers its customers:
- efficient project engineering;
- high production efficiency and low costs;
- a high quality final product obtained from adequate and continuous processing,
- free from ecological problems.
The principal characteristics are :
- Large working capacity.
- Compact plant and minimised labour requirement in operation.
- Respect for and protection of the environment through emission control and reduction both of noise and of odours.
The compost turner is the fundamental plant element for the correct operation of the production process.
Through the micro-biological decomposition of organic wastes, the composting plant transforms the organic mixtures, obtaining an organic soil conditioner which can be applied as agricultural fertilizer.
The great advantage of the process is the high velocity operation and the limited energy consumption.
The compost turner operates on material deposited in channels; it is automatically positionedon the required channel and proceeds automatically with the turning process.
Our equipment has been developed through long and profitable research, with optimal mechanical and technological solutions.
The loading of the treatment area, the height of the load and its uniformity are the basic requirements for a good result in the successive phase of transformation through the process of micro-biological stabilisation.
Our system can accept and treat any mixture which corresponds to the typical materials for composting.
DESCRIPTION OF COMPOST TURNER WITH TRANSFER TROLLEY
The compost turner runs on rails mounted on top of reinforced concrete walls forming a channel; the length of the channel is such that the required quantity of product fills the channel approximately up to the top of the walls.
Several channels are normally used, formed by parallel walls.
The machine runs along the rails and turns the compost by means of flails mounted on a revolving drum.
The product is lifted, transported and then deposited to the rear of the machine by a system of chain-driven paddles.
The compost is thus moved several meters (approximately the length of the machine) and leaves empty that part of the channel which it formerly occupied.
At the end of the work cycle the product has been completely remixed progressively along the channel.
When the compost turner reaches the end of a channel it is shifted laterally to the end of the adjacent channel by means of the transfer trolley.
The transfer trolley moves on rails installed across one end of the channels and carries the turner to the head of the next channel; the trolley stops at this point to allow processing of the new channel.
The full cycle is therefore as follows:
A -The “fresh” product is deposited at the head of each channel by conveyor belts or similar equipment.
B -Each pass of the compost turner mixes the product and advances it along the channel.
C -At the ends of the channels remote from the transfer trolley there is a transport system removing the “mature” product after completion the process.
